Mr & Mrs Rothwell
A fantastic barn wedding at Stock Farm, Cheshire. An early autumn wedding, which was blessed with wonderful sunshine. Fourteen hours of wedding photography, but a shift which was well worth it in such fantastic surroundings, capped off with great music from Groove Manuva.
The day started early at 9am for Bridal Prep on a glorious early autumn day. Clear blue skies and temperatures that reached 20 degrees Celsius. A beautiful mist shrouded the farm and surrounding fields in the morning, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. As a photographer, it’s great to be a part of a couples special day and this couple were a pleasure to photograph. A wedding day goes so quickly, so the photographs are so important to help remember all the moments which unfurl. Bridal Prep took place in Swallows Barn…
As a documentary photographer, I don’t want to intrude too much on the Bride’s preparations, and I have other things to photograph - the other preparations taking place that make the day special. So much time and money is spent on the finer details of the day. Flowers, table settings and the venue itself. Photographs preserve these preparations…
So to the part everyone is waiting for…the ceremony! There’s so much anticipation and emotion in this part of the day. Within the ceremony barn, a single window cast beautiful light onto the Bride & Groom.
After the ceremony is done, it’s outside for couple shots, canopes and drinks all round. This is often the time for group shots, posed shots and a few drinks with the guests before the evening reception gets under way. I am a documentary photographer, and always stress to couples that this part of the day can be taken up with photographs. It’s about deciding what you want, but just remember - time on the day is precious and you want to be sure there is time for you to spend with your loved ones.
…and so the fun begins! Speeches, cake cutting, first dance and then - party! This couple chose gourmet barbeque and a band - oh and pizza for supper. It was such a great day from start to finish. I really enjoy the evening of the wedding day. People really start to unwind and I can get create with the camera as people dance the night away…
